Wicked-Broadway's Most "Popular" Show

Here we are six years later and Wicked is still going strong. The show has been breaking box office records since it opened in November 2003. I first saw the show the week before opening. While I enjoyed it I never thought it would become the mega hit that it has become on Broadway and around the world. The show which lost the Tony Award for Best Musical to Avenue Q is not only our biggest seller but continues to sell out eight times a week at the Gershwin Theatre. Now that doesn't mean you can't get tickets. We have access to tickets for every performance. From Rear Mezzanine to Premium Orchestra, Applause is your best source for Broadway's #1 show. Why not give us a try? You'll be glad you did.

Wicked.. It's Popular!!!!!

By far one on my favorite shows Wicked tells the story of two girls that meet in the land of OZ. One who is born with emerald green skin and is a smart and misunderstood and the other who is beautiful and very popular. These two unlikely friends end up as the wicked witch. of the west and Glenda the good witch. Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman Wicked is a must see while in New York City. A show that will mesmerize young and old and leave you wanting to go back again and again. For the best seats at the best prices call Applause!!!!!

Broadway's Wicked Is Sill Broadway's Biggest Hit

Here we are six years into the Broadway run of Wicked and it is still the most popular show around. I first saw the show during previews and although I thought it was great never did I think it would become the world wide phenomenon that it is today. Believe it or not the show didn't get very good reviews when it first opened. That shows you what critics know. Never underestimate the audience. There the ones buying the tickets after all. After all these years Wicked is not only one of our most requested shows but our biggest seller. I don't expect that to change. So whether you're a fan of the show or not it really doesn't matter. Wicked is here to stay my friends. That you can count on. You know what else you can count on? Applause having tickets to see Wicked whenever you want to go. Why not give us a call? You'll be glad you did.

Broadway's Most "Popular" Musical Is Wicked

Now in it's fifth sold out year on Broadway is Wicked. The show which believe it or not opened to mixed reviews in October 2003 has secured it's place on the Great White Way as one of Broadway's most successful musicals of all time. Having seen the show in previews I knew it would be a big seller but I never expected it to be the mega hit that it has become since then. Since I began working for Applause five years ago I can honestly say that not only is Wicked our most requested show but is the one show that everyone in my office agrees is one of the best they have ever seen. Trust me when I say that does not happen too often with this group. Now having said all of that you might be thinking that getting tickets to see Wicked might be difficult. Not at all. We here at Applause can get you tickets to see this Tony Award winning musical for you right now. All you have to do is call and we will do the rest. It's that easy. Also note that we can also get tickets to see Wicked in London or any city Nationwide. So why not give us a try? You'll be glad you did.

"Wicked" Makes People Happy!

I just sold tickets to a young business woman who couldn't be happier! She had her assistant trying desperately to obtain last minute tickets to see "Wicked" tomorrow night but not have to pay an arm and a leg. She has her niece coming into town and apparently this was the only show she wanted to see. Well the assistant found us online through a Google search and her boss just couldn't believe the seats I had and the price we were selling them for. She was dumbfounded and ecstatic! Our price, she told me, was by far the best out there and she just couldn't understand why everyone else out there selling tickets are so much more than us. She told me that she was doing the "Happy Dance" and had me laughing on the phone. What a great lady who told me that she was so glad to find us and that we now have a customer for life and that she will tell everyone about us. How's that for a testimonial. In fact here is her response after I sent her our e-mail confirmation.

thank you.........thank you...........thank you.............thank you.............thank you............thank you.....did i happen to mention, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love that! Call Applause anytime to get tickets last minute. 800-451-9930

"Wicked" Asks the Question To What End? The Purpose of Our Relationships!

I love the Broadway musical Wicked. For those readers unfamiliar with the story, it is based on the best-selling novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory McGuire which runs parallel to the classic novel by L. Frank Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Wicked tells the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. Their friendship causes them to face their opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, their reactions to the Wizard’s corrupt government and ultimately, Elphaba’s public fall from grace. The plot is set mostly before Dorothy’s arrival from Kansas and includes several references to well-known scenes and dialogue in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as a back-story.

Wicked will be running here on Broadway for the next 50 or so years and on tour in the Phoenix metro area at Tempe’s Gammage Auditorium throughout the month of July, 2009. It also continues to be a huge hit in London and around the world. Find out if Wicked is coming to your area and check this musical out by calling me here at Applause. In the meantime, I wanted to share the lyrics to a song from Wicked. The song is sung between Elphaba and Glinda, just before the finale.

Watch a video of Kristin Chenoweth singing this song in concert. Gorgeous!

For Good

(Elphaba) I’m limited
Just look at me – I’m limited.
And just look at you
You can do all I couldn’t do, Glinda.
So now it’s up to you
For both of us – now it’s up to you…

(Glinda) I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don’t know if I believe that’s true
But I know I’m who I am today
Because I knew you

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good
(Elphaba) It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You’ll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend…

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a sky bird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better?
But because I knew you

(Glinda)

Because I knew you
(Both) I have been changed for good

(Elphaba)And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the thing I’ve done you blame me for

(Glinda) But then, I guess we know
There’s blame to share
(Both) And none of it seems to matter anymore
(Glinda) Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood

(Elphaba)Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood

(Both)Who can say if I’ve been
Changed for the better?
I do believe I have been
Changed for the better
(Glinda)And because I knew you…
(Elphaba) Because I knew you…

(Both)Because I knew you…
I have been changed for good.

This song has inspired me at a time when I have been feeling challenged by my relationships. Some of my relationships seem static and difficult. I have begun to wonder if it would be in the best interest of both of us to move along.

Wicked on Broadway -Still an All-Time Favorite of Mine

I've seen dozens of Broadway shows in the last few years and enjoyed most of them. But for my money, there's nothing like "live musical theater" in my mind. Although my company Applause Theater Service sells all the Broadway Shows in New York City, day in and day out-Wicked sells much more frequently than most others. I've seen it three times now and it is very special indeed.

If you haven't had a chance to see Wicked in New York, this amazing story tells us about the Wicked Witch of the West called Elphaba (played by Nicole Parker) and her nemesis, Glinda, The Good Witch (played by Alli Mauzey). In short, Wicked is really the untold musical story of The Wizard of Oz, before Dorothy dropped in so to speak. A "pre-quel" to The Wizard of Oz. The show is based on the best-selling novel by Gregory McGuire with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. Joe Mantello directs this fantastic show.

In 2004 Wicked was nominated for 10 Tony Awards. The show has a great cast of characters with spectacular scenic design and musical staging by Eugene Lee and Wayne Cilento, lighting by Kenneth Posner and costumes by Susan Hilferty. Wicked's musical score ranges from contemporary to theatrical with many of them becoming quite memorable for a long time to come. The show is 2 and 1/2 hours long with one intermission and there's a cool souvenir stand in the lobby across from the box office.

As I mentioned previously, Wicked is a big ticket seller on Broadway. It has all the talent both on stage and off stage with a unique story and great musical theater fun. A truly unique piece of theater. I think it will play New York's Gershwin Theater for many more year to come.

Right now if you think you may want to see Wicked on Broadway, you can simply contact the friendly ticket experts at Applause in New York. They are licensed by the State of New York Department of Licensing and have been in business for 21 years now. They know the show, the seating chart, the best seats for the best price and even where to grab a bite before the theater. Could you ask for anything more...

Wicked Tickets in NYC-Need dinner suggestions?

I just have to share a New York secret with those of you that are going to buy tickets for Wicked at the Gershwin Theater. Well maybe its 2 secrets about where to eat before the show.

There are many places to have a great meal at prior to seeing Wicked. Since my wife and I eat out allot, I thought I would give you 2 suggestions, both close to the theater.

First, you might want to consider making a reservation at our new favorite restaurant. It's a very special place called Taboon. Taboon is a very special midtown restaurant specializing in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. Taboon is located at 773 Tenth Avenue at 50th Street. They have wonderful "hot from the taboon" breads, that go hand in hand with specially prepared "hummus". In addition they have about a dozen terrific entrees at "mid range prices". The decor is stylish yet subdued enough top match its 10th Avenue location. The food and service at Taboon are fantastic and I can just hear the "thank you" calls from customers we suggest this dining establishment to. This place is a real treat friends. Their local phone number is 212-713-0271.

My other suggestion is right next door to Wicked, for those of you that have a desire to be very close to the theatre. The Palm (one of 3 in New York City) is a great choice and literally across the street from Wicked. The Palm is a steakhouse that also has wonderful tasting seafood dishes, especially the fantastic Lobster dishes they serve. The Palm resembles a fast paced business person's place yet has exceptional service. The atmosphere is a bit "old style" complete with many a New York "chariciture" of famous celebrities on all the walls. Fun to look at folks. Their phone number is 212-333-7256 and they are located at 250 West 50th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue.

If you need tickets at reasonable prices for Wicked in New York and a great meal to make your trip to Broadway complete, don't hesitate to give the friendly ticket experts at Applause a call. They can be reached at 212-307-7050 or toll free at 800-451-9930 seven days a week, all year long. They love theater and really know lots of great places to have a really good meal.

Just think about how you'll be able to brag to your friends that you got great seats to Wicked and had a great meal to boot. It's fun getting people excited about seeing Broadway Shows and eating good food. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Check Out Our Wicked Ticket Sale In New York City

For over five years now, New York's most popular show has been Wicked on Broadway. Wicked is a new American musical that tells us the untold story of how the Wicked Witch of the West named Elphaba and Glinda the Good Witch (from the Wizard of Oz film of our childhood)both came to meet at "witches school". Just before Dorothy "dropped in" so to speak.

Wicked is based on the Gregory Macguire novel and the show tells us the journey of the girls "unique and unexpected" friendship and love for one another. The shows music and lyrics were written by Stephen Schwartz with book by Winnie Holzman. Joe Mantello directs and musical staging is by Wayne Cilantro. Marcie Dodd and Alli Mauzey play the lead characters Elphaba and Glinda and I must say, for all five years that Wicked has been on Broadway, this production is still playing to "sold out" audiences at most performances. It truly is one of the greatest shows of our time. I've seen it 3 times myself.

For a limited time only Applause Theatre Service, one of Broadway's officially licensed ticket agencies, is offering amazing seats at very reasonable prices. You can simply checkout our Wicked inventory or call us directly in New York City at
